In this course you will speak on a number of topics, which deal with your personal field of study and potential career and networking aspects. You will have the opportunity to work in pairs and groups in informal conversation contexts, as well as in more structured and formal situations in which you need to be more fluent and accurate (such as interviews, presentations, and inter-cultural exchanges). The focus will be on language fluency and effective communication. Your performance will be evaluated by the quality of your communication skills, which will be evaluated by means of activities, assignments and presentations. The seminar will be useful if you wish to improve your oral skills in your current studies and for your furture professional life.
We will work at the B2 level (CEF), the aims of the skill levels include: listening (understanding speech and lectures and following lines of argumentation) reading (ability to read articles, and reports concerned with contemporary issues, etc.) and basic understanding of prose, spoken interaction and production (ability to interact in discussion with accuracy and fluency and ability to present information on specific subjects with the special focus and aim of self-marketing and presentation skill development.
This seminar will incorporate a variety of interactive learning methods such as group work, partner exercises role-playing and presentation.
